Does Boeser get a true blue chipper? With what seems to be him declining over the last couple years (lots of injuries) and his contract status I don't know. Maybe he just needs a change, but I dont think he has the same value as say Miller. This deal gets them a young roster player, decent prospect and a first rounder. Not sure they get much more than that tbh. I don't do this if I'm Pittsburgh as I don't love the fit.

Boeser’s injury issues are overstated, he didn’t miss a game last year and missed 3 games at the start of this season with an injury. Last season was also his 2nd best season in PPG, and since Boudreau took over he has been back to his normal self (20 points in 25 games)

I agree he doesn’t have the same value as Miller, but he should return a blue chip prospect or young top 4 RHD

By Injuries I meant that they hurt his development. I don't think that is a stretch for how good he looked in his 1st and second years. Still a good player, just not what I thought he would be.

I've me an example of a blue chip prospect or young top 4 d you think he could return. I'm not being a smart ass, but I've heard that being thrown around. For example is "top 4" some experience in the top 4? Like a Liljegren out of Toronto? Romanov out of Montreal? Cause young top 4 defenseman who are legit top 4 and still getting better are worth far more than 1 way wingers. Just wondering if you could elaborate on this further

I can agree on that injury point now that you clarified it.

For me the ideal target for a younger top 4 RHD would be Marino from Pittsburgh. Also I wouldn’t necessarily call Boeser a one way winger. He’s no Mark Stone, but he’s solid defensively

I just don't see them getting a defenseman like Marino for him (im very high on him) but if that's they type of player you think, maybe LA would be a good target. Sean walker? Sean Durzi? Matt Roy? Lots of good options there with them needing a top 6 winger. I guess boeser has gotten better defensively over the years, but I just don't love his offense at 5 on 5. I hope he puts it all together as he had so much potential.

I think if they get true blue chipper or too 4RHD, they won’t get much else, if anything at all, Kap and Bos are in down tears and have similar production rn, Bos obviously has higher offensive upside but Kap has better 2way play, Poulin has been better recently in the AHL and is about a year away from being at least a middle 6 guy with size and skill, the 1st just adds on, this deal pays for the potential of a 40 goal guy in a down year and I think it maybe too much for him and that’s why I don’t think he gets moved

LA could be a good fit as well. Only potential issue is they are in the same division

I dont think teams care about that anymore. Only major rivals. Better off not to limit your trading options to maximize values right?

Yeah I would be fine moving him there for the right return
