Edmonton has 5 goalies and Allen is a lateral move at best.

First A second for Allen is a reach.

Secondly why make the trade for Edmonton then? It's not difficult to loo up who requires a back up.

1. A 2nd is not a reach for a good tandem goalie at the deadline especially one who costs less than 3 mil.

2. Everyone knows Edmonton needs a goalie upgrade, every team also has 5-7 goalies if you include their AHL and ECHL teams. If Edmonton has so many goalie options right now why has their goal tending been an issue all season? Smith is about done and while Koskinen has been good this week he wasn't in previous weeks. The only thing about Koskinen that is consistent IS his inconsistency. There aren't too many goalies on the market right now, sure you may be able to find a better option like Varlemov at the deadline but he also may not be available if the Ilses elect to keep him. Having 3 good NHL quality tandem goalies is not going to hurt the Oilers heading down the stretch and into the playoffs, it simply gives them a 3rd option if one of the others get hurt or go back to being inconsistent

You know what the issue with this site is, it's everyone on here wants to "win the trade" and steal players from other teams instead of actually listening to what the experts are saying and paying that price (I do it too sometimes) especially when it comes to divisional rivals or teams/players they just don't like. Every player currently in the NHL has earned their spot on a roster by beating out the competition. If the team had better options they would play them over those currently on their roster. To say your team has better options available to them even though those "better options" can't beat out their current competition for a roster spot is hilariously ridiculous. If Skinner was a better option than Smith or Koskinen then the Oilers would be playing him or either of the other 2 options, over Koskinen and Smith. The Oilers are in desperate need of an NHL goalie, everyone but Bobcaygeon97 can see this.

I know you said that you know it probably won't happen but I really think the rangers hate that trade, Dvorak isn't exactly what the Rangers need and Othmann has been amazing and is the only 1st round pick the Drury has made so I doubt he opens him up for trade
