Seriously, why do Montreal fans think Chiarot's value is increasing at an exponential rate? He's not worth Ellis or a first alone, let alone both combined.

Seems like a high price for Allen when I’d consider him third on the current depth chart behind skinner and kosk fourth if smith gets his crap sorted out. Expensive waiver bound loss for Edmonton.

MY FRIEND. This is a package he will 100% receive lol. Follow some experts its minimum a 1st + asset. It's not like I'm making up this value lol

Ignore him, he is just upset cause St. Louis are rumored to be a favorite for Chiarot. Not many St. Louis fans like Chiarot, probably cause he played for the Jets and they are mad about some game or playoff series that happens 3+ years ago. They will get over it when he gets traded to St. Louis as predicted.

      He'll get the 1st
But the Asset only gets better if other teams offer better assets upping the bid
I dont see that happneing past a Torpochenko or Bitten level prospect

I think FLA is in the best position over pay like that just because of their need coupled with their cap situation
They'd be in a better position to pony up a 1st and a Serron or Heponiemi for Chiarot at 50% RS
Take Accari if need be to make the cap work

Allen is consistent as the day is long
      Boringly so even

Koskinen,Smith nor Skiner can claim that
Skinner its a roller coaster where he has streaks of 2-3 game with good stats then 2-3 with below avarage numbers .800 to .900 SV% 6/13 games played
I think backed by Allen that Skinner could find some more consistency then Koskinen or Smith will ever provide
I think it can make a good tadem like Binnington/Allen or Price/Allen that each made SCF in the past 5 years

Can't recall a single thing Chiarot ever did to the Blues besides sucking in the playoffs in 2019 with the Jets and his deplorable play during Montreal's run. He may get a 1st from some other team, but not the Blues and no way will they get a good prospect

Which deplorable play for Montreal was that? Playing 20+ minutes a night shutting down some of the leagues best offenses or his PK work helping Montreal to the best PK unit in the entire playoffs (it wasn't even close by the way, Montreal's PK ran at 91.8% and the 2nd place Wild ran at 86.7)? Yup that is such deplorable play that he should be in the ECHL! BTW Chiarot lead the team in TOI/GP if he was really as bad as you seem to think one would assume he would be the least deployed player in the league not leading SCF Habs in ice time.

Yeah he was traded to MIN then to STL about 2 months ago
He was in MIN system for 3 and a 1/2 years
In STL system he's began to take off
I like him as he plays like Gallagher but is a center

All makes sense and same with the value... maybe different prospect but +/- this.
For Chiarot: If he fetch a better prospect, a HIGH 2nd (38OA) would be the cost as many good players would be available at the draft.

NYR you might need to get Nemeth back for $ and you will need a 7th NHL D... as Kulak will be gone

I guarantee that DA won’t give up a first for a rental his team has been in a playoff position almost every year he’s been with the blues which is a long long time and when the last time he did
Oh yes Ryan miller (the way that worked out made sure he’d never do it again)
So it’s not anything to do with the jets or even him being an nhl level pylon, it’s just unrealistic

Sure cause you personally know DA and know exactly what he will and won't do! No, you are only speculating on what YOU THINK he won't do cause you DONT WANT him to do it.

The horrible play that made Montreal rely so heavily on Price in the playoffs. Never said he was an ECHL player, but he's a number 4 defenseman on his best days. But we could talk about his team leading giveaways in the playoffs, defenseman with the highest expected goals against (2nd lowest on team) in playoffs. He's a great shot blocker, I'll give him that, but doesn't provide a ton of anything else the Blues need right now

Isn’t that basically what your doing your taking one insiders report and another ones value
      I’m just looking at history

I wasn't the one "guaranteeing" what DA will or won't do! I am listening to the experts yes cause I am smart enough to know that I don't know the players values the way they do. Anyone who thinks they know more than an expert is a fool. These guys have years of experience and inside knowledge on how players are viewed by the gm's, you do not.

I cannot get the video to play, maybe not allowed in the country I'm in at the moment. I'll check it again tomorrow when I land in Turkey. However, not only was this video from three months ago, but I'm gonna go ahead and guess it does not even remotely say what you claim it says. But, yes, I will get back to you when I can watch the video.

This was Friedman, Engels and LeBrun man. You can pretend this isn't common knowledge if you want lol

Well, gosh, feel perfectly free to share more links where anyone reports the price is "minimum a 1st + asset". I mean, it's such common knowledge, there should be no issue adding a news story/column link.

And can we stop pretending Friedman is an insider? The guy is a total joke.

Not disregarding it but things change year to year, situations change. Just cause one player didn't work out doesn't mean another won't for the same price. By refusing to ever trade another first for a rental, DA wouldn't be considering everything that could put his team in the best position to be contenders (that may or may not be Chiarot). A GM's job is to consider everything and evaluate their potential to improve the club, by flat out refusing to pay for rentals he is NOT considering all the options available to improve his club.

I agree but it obviously influenced him as he hasn't again even when his team is really good contenders
