No thanks. Jarnkrok isn't an upgrade over Gaudreau, so we're basically giving up assets for a lateral move. If it were for McCann instead, I'd be a lot more interested for, say, a 2nd.

They're both bottom 6 centers that aren't great on the dot and have identical points/60. Their advanced stats in general are pretty close for the most part. How is he an upgrade?

They are not doing that, either. Obviously.

Nothing gets the ball rolling. There's on ball here. He's not available, there's nothing to discuss.

If that's the ask for McCann, Minny will make a better one:

Surely you know the Blues reject this outright. Not a chance

Johansson is a UFA. Why would Anaheim waste assets on him?

It would be different if, for example, Getzlaf were injured for the rest of the season and the Ducks were in contention for a playoff spot. But right now, neither premise exists.

At what? Obvious reality? Army is obviously not trading one of our best players, who is locked up long term to a great deal while we try to win more Cups, for a D-man we already had and don't need and a draft pick, high as it may be. The only "smh" here is that anyone needs to point that out. More than once.
