Love the trade ideas on this team and everything, but I don't know if Colorado would accept that trade. I wanna hear out Colorado fans before anything.

Either way, Girard would be a great addition to the team. I think that Forsberg would be a great addition to the team as well. However, I think he would fight with Lou to keep his mustache lmao
I think that we should buy out Palmieri and get someone else in free agency or through trade.

          Love keeping Robin Salo
Don't know too much about Maltsev
JT Compher is one of my favorite players
Holtby would be a good addition to the team in replacement of Varly
Hopefully Barry wakes up and keeps P&P Security together

I agree with most of the trades, but where is the speed from the forwards come if you trade Beauvillier? Girard has been really bad this season on a team with a ton of elite talent, hes also terrible on the PP. I’m not opposed to trading Mayfield but I’d rather get a 1st rd pick.

Regarding the contracts, Dobson is playing top pair minutes and is on pace for 15 goals, can’t see him taking anything less than 4.5 mill on a 3 year deal. Risto just declined 6.3 x 6 from Philadelphia and he’s also not very good

Colorado wouldn't do this. Girard is too valuable to our back end.

Also - I would be shocked if Jimothy Timothy is still on the Avs after the deadline.

He hasn’t been driving play offensively , he has the worst defensive impact among Avs dmen. The only reason why his underlying + counting stats are decent is because of the Avs elite finishing talent.

Maybe because he wants out, who knows. He needs to see MacKinnon’s sports Psychologist maybe…

idk about that, it's just concerning that a defenseman with Girard's skillset has mediocre numbers, COL usually boosts everyone's numbers. Even Erik Johnson has been better than him.

Cant stand Erik Johnson, but that’s true. His numbers sucked in St. Louis

From Evolving Hockey's xGAR metric (which is a good indicator of a defensemans impact)

          Xoff (expected offense)
          Girard: 3.1
          EJ: 2.6

          XEVD (expected even strength defense)
          Girard: -2.1
          EJ: 0.1

Erik Johnson also has a higher GF/60 and xGF/60. Dom's model put's a lot of emphasis on points.

Girard is also playing with Jack Johnson and EJ is playing against team's bottom-6s. Saying Girard has been awful is a wild statement

I guess we could go back and forth on the stats all day long; the ones I'm looking at show Girard to be better than EJ in most categories. I no way do they show Girard being "awful." And EJ is one of their primary PK'ers but has only been okay at that. I love what EJ brings in terms of blocked shots and the physicality and leadership but Girard is the better player on a better contract.

Girard has had 628 min of ice time without Jack Johnson - stating Girard is awful is definitely an exaggeration, but he's been nothing more than an average #4 D this season.

I was exaggerating, but Girard has been nothing special this season which is concerning playing with a lot of elite talent. EJ has been better than Girard at both ends of the ice at even strength this season. Girard puts up points, but his play driving has been below average. Obviously EJ will decline and I'd rather have Girard, but I'm not sure how good Girard would be on another team.
