  1. Gibson, John
Additional Details:
Sammy is a good young goalie with a high ceiling, just needs some consistency and a new start. Love him so this hurts.

They also get an A prospect in Lapierre. Having a Zegras-Lapierre playmaking 1-2 punch for years to come will be great.

Pilon is a NHL ready top 9 forward with speed and skill that plays both wing and center. Will fit perfectly with their young core.

Agree they need to get young but not by sacrificing the core. Not trading Carlson and I would not give Oshie away for anything. On top of being really good on the ice. He is also the teams Heart and Soul on and off the ice.

Then how do you retool? lol Going to have to move some of the core. Ovi and Backy aren't going anywhere. Carlson is great but he's slow. Klingberg can bring the same offense but with speed. Oshie is the heart but can't rely on him being healthy and he's also slow.

You keep the core and replace some of the players around them that are old and slow. Klingberg cannot score like Carlson can

The issue is the whole core is slow. Ovi, Backy, Oshie, Carlson. Even Eller is looking slower. Klingberg has the ability to score like Carlson, especially considering their age difference. Yeah Carlson might outscore him or another season or 2 but Klingberg will do it longer.
