What's Vegas incentive to downgrade from Smith to Lehkonen?

I don't think Vegas excepts because of their cap situation. If I'm correct then they won't have to sell at all and really don't need Arturi Lekhonen or Brett Kulak. They will be insanly strong come playoff time and I think they won't trade Zach Dean just yet because of the position of cup or bust. You certainly won't get Reilly Smith and a third back as Vegas if they need to sell will find a dance partner that will pay for Reilly Smith. Plus I still don't think the money works.

Case in point Vegas will just trade Riley Smith to another team like LA before trading him to Montreal.

I'm not sure what that mean's either. That might be the start to free agency or the draft which then will be an invantage to have Lehkonen as he is a RFA but he is eligible for arbritration which makes him ever so slightly less appealing.

He's referring to the series-winning goal Lehkonen had against Vegas on June 24

So he's trying to sum up the entire series to 1 goal? Last I checked that was Lehkonen's only point that entire series and Smith had 3
