Yep value is as close as you get. You not asking for retention would entice the ducks too. . A first would also be acceptable. Rangers in the market for a winger?

Don’t think Rangers can afford it. Probably similar to Saad contract. 5 years at 4.5 per

Actually they can afford it, thats about the most they can afford. How much do you think Crouse will get on an extension?

I'd be asking for Lundkvist or Robertson. We're not really interested in left-handed forwards.

So I was looking at the rules. So apparently a team is allowed to exceed the cap by a certain percentage if they have bonuses. So that means that if you don’t include bonuses you can still get to 81.5 mill correct?

While I agree, I honestly have a lot more interest in left-handed Forwards than left-handed Defensemen so I'd probably take a Kravtsov over Robertson.

Optimal would be Cuylle imo. He's left-handed but he's such a good player and I'd love to add him to the Forward pipeline.

I think Cuylle is building up to be our version of Lawson Crouse.

Im thinking of a Cuylle, Barron, Rakell (or Kakko depending on whos hotter) third line next year. I think it could be so good.

I'm worried about losing Hampus, hence the interest in Robertson. (Not that he's an immediate replacement!)

2 of the Ducks LHD prospects project to have a higher impact than him (those being Zellweger and Thrun) and LaCombe is at least close. Hinds is also worth mentioning. So I, personally, don't see the need for another. Lundkvist would be really nice considering the lack of high-end RHD prospects but it's unlikely the Rangers trade him for Rakell.

Could be really good. Doubt Cuylle is going anywhere.

Do you think Lunkvist could be traded for Rakell? Lundkvist + 2023 3rd for Rakell? Want to hear the opinion of a NYR fan.

If Lundkvist is traded, it will be for a bigger fish in a larger package. Theres no pressure on the Rangers to trade him.

Yes I think you are correct, see the link here for a quick summary: https://puckpedia.com/salary-cap/performance-bonuses-and-carryovers

I actually think only Kravstov (a 1:1 trade) could do it, too. NYR can't use him but he's still a former top 10 pick and there could be a market for Kravstov if he's not coming back to NYR (which is likely).

Maybe, but it seems to me that LaCombe, Thrun and Zellweger are all further away than Robertson. Anyway, that was my thinking.

I don't think NYR are ready to move on from Lundkvist just yet. NYR have other defensemen in the pipeline though that have good value and would be worth moving a rental like Rakell for. Examples include Matthew Robertson and Hunter Skinner. You could probably grab another pick along with one of those guys.

Even if they play RW? I think the ducks would love to have a top 6 playmaker to complement that other young guys they have on the roster.

If you're talking about Kravtsov, it's not clear to me that he'll be playing anywhere, and I've seen no indication that Cuylle plays RW the same way Rakell or Kaliyev do.

I was referring to Kravstov; I think he'd come over as soon as Traktor's season is over so long as it's not NYR, CBJ and MTL (:

That's what I thought. Skinner is more probably more interesting that Robertson because he's a RHD while Robertson is left-handed.

I think that if Lindholm actually leaves, someone like Thrun might take the chance and leaves Harvard early to play in SoCal. If he impresses enough, he might even get a spot who knows. I don't think Robertson is much closer than him.
