Where's the value for Toronto in that trade? Holl and Miller are basically comparables in their impact on the ice. Why would they ever trade a top prospect as well as a pick to swap for such little value between players? The deal is laughable.

So the 2nd for Miller at 50% retention as a rental and to take Hall, it’ll cost Nick Robertson?

Canes pass. There is no need to rush and acquire a useless piece just for them to get waived. Pysyk isn’t that good to begin with, and Chatfield has proved he can handle an NHL workload, and the Canes will just run Chatfield until DeAngelo gets back.

with Miller at 50% retained salary and them taking Holl its cheaper for Toronto plus gets rid of Holls contract next year as well

So Toronto gains what I would argue is a better player for cheaper, in which they save money this year and next year
Buffalo gains more cap space (they need it) and a prospect, Robertson was the first guy that came to mind, Im more than willing to say that it would cost less than him for that. I personally (and I know I'm in the minority) am not sure if Robertson ever gets close to that potential he was once given

I saw somewhere suggesting the Canes are looking to add Defense. Pysyk can go anywhere really...

Edit: Deangelo is also currently not listed as IR according to the canes page

He might not be on IR just yet, but he will be out about a month. Chatfield has been an excellent step in, and unless there is another injury, heaven forbid, there is no true need to go out and acquire a DeAngelo replacement.

What’s your thought process with bringing in Samsonov in goal?
UPL has earned his shot, and if he doesn’t work out we have Levi & Portillo nipping on his heals
I think we should be bringing in a solid Vet to pair with UPL for a couple seasons
Samsonov is too young & inconsistent to mentor our young goalie talent imo

I would agree, not sure what buffalo has in mind... Just playing around with ideas is all

Agree, plus I'm not interested in moving olofsson for that.

Yeah, that too
If we didn’t have all this good young goalie talent,
then it would make sense to give someone like Samsonov a shot
But not in our current situation

Holl isn’t a cap dump.

Good try though.

I completely agree with you both.
Too many TML fans unfortunately move Holl off of the roster for nothing or even with a pick, so the average Sabre fan thinks he is a cap casualty.
I would imagine he would be a very good partner with Dahlin.
If Miller had not played hurt I would imagine his stats would have been his career best.
Regardless, on this date Holl, Robertson and second for Miller far from a fair deal.

Koskinen is 7-0-1 and .934 in his last 8 starts. Edmonton isn't paying to move him.
