Not much value there in the WInnipeg trade. Stanley has not been good just in general, he wouldn't be top 6 on most teams and definitely not a top 4 option for a playoff team. DeMelo has been playing 3rd pairing minutes for most of the season and the Jets have cap questions coming up this offseason. He's likely a cap casualty. There's nothing there to justify that kind of cost.

DeMelo could likely be had for a 2nd + Hirvonen and he's the only piece of the Jets trade with value. Just dump Stanley entirely.

Jets will take that anyday for a long time unless Stanley is gonna best the next Bobby Orr or The next consecutive Norris winner

Probably the next Zdeno Chara should be the hope, Big guy like Stanley who took awhile to get used to his size in the NHL.

This is accurate. Something I fear if they move him. He shows flashes of absolute terror as a big man, but other times looks like he doesn’t want to use his size. But like you mentioned before, too much. DeMelo is likely worth a 2nd at most. He’d be a great partner for Rielly. He’s been great when he plays with Morrissey.

I don't like it but I don't see why we wouldn't take it. Dermott holds no value to us but the 3rd for Gus and for taking Dermott seems like it might get it done.
