Post-Giroux Trade

Created by: MGabes19
Team: 2022-23 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 2, 2022
Published: Mar. 2, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is going to be a bad team, and that's a good thing. Hopefully the flyers get a top-5 pick in 2022 draft (obviously hoping for Shane Wright, but if not him, than Cooley/Nemec/Savoie would be fantastic). The team below will be terrible and wrecked with injuries again (someone fire the medical staff in Philly!) and will have a high pick in a very good 2023 draft, along with Colorado's 2023 1st, which will probably be the 32nd pick. Hopefully, with infusion of York/Forester/2022 1st/2023 1st, along with current core Hart/Provy/Coots/Beezer/Ellis (if he's ever healthy), they could push for contention starting in 2024.

Flyers also have ample cap space this year to eat contracts for more picks/prospects. Hopefully they can ship off JVR at some point during 2023 season, but I'm doubtful any team wants him at this point.

Ok he makes 200k less? Doesn't really matter here, especially on a tanking team with more than 10M in cap space.

meh. hes a 2nd line winger who happens to be fast. always has been, that fluke season in 20 was great and all but it made our fans think hes something which he isnt. a guy who can help "carry" a team. his true signs showed towards the end of that season where he couldnt get a goal. love the guy but it might be time to move on

i like the team but if we're gonna have oskar on the 4th line you might as well trade him. i like allison on the first line but he has flyers prospect-itis (injury bug)

Love Lindblom and would hate for him to go, but I would be fine with trading him for 2023 assets. What do you think would be a good/fair return for Oskar?

it wouldnt really help to swap him for a roster player, because they would just be on our 4th line too and it wouldnt do much. either a mid-round pick or preferably a prospect that isnt panning out and a later pick would work. we desperately need prospects lmao its really bad

I agree but I love TK for his energy. He is a rat on the ice and he gets under people's skin fast. He might not always put up the stats but I believe he is a very talented winger who has emotions on the ice. Things we like as flyers fans. This year we were stormed by injuries and couldnt catch a break. Rough year all around. Last year was rough for everyone with covid and division schedules.
I'd give TK 1 more year to see what he is all about. I still believe in him.

But a RHD wouldnt be a bad thing to have, I cant argue that.

That’s why I like him. I’ve defended him on that basis forever. When he wasn’t scoring goals it was “trade TK” this and “trade TK” that… but he’s not a goal scorer… or at least a consistent one. Are you willing to pay $5.5M for that when it’s not working? I feel as though it may be wasted space, try someone else on that first line once coots is healthy
