No thanks, Hawks rebuild around DeBrincat.
This is not enough value.

Not enough. And you don't get protections on picks with him. Any trade for Cat is straight up.

You're way off on value to acquire a player who just turned 24 years old, is a top 5 goal scorer in the league, and who's on a team friendly cap hit and RFA after that.

Not to mention, a rebuild generally includes star players under 25 years old so no reason for Chicago to even think about moving him unless an offer is way too good to be true.

And yes, in case you bring it up; he's worth more then Eichel because he's not injured, isn't have a public dispute with his team, is on a much cheaper cap hit, and isn't a UFA in another 3 seasons.

If he's available, how much more makes this trade work? Compared to the below trades, I'm offering a perfectly reasonable amount, including Chicago's pick of some A-/B+ prospects.
- Jack Eichel: 1st, 2nd, Tuch (2nd liner), Krebs (B+)
- Taylor Hall: 1st, 3rd, Bahl (B/B-), Merkley (??) (Edit: the 3rd had the conditions to become a 2nd or 1st, they just weren't met)

If he isn't available for a reasonable price, how do you plan to start a rebuild centered on a guy who's already 24? Nobody you draft this year and beyond will be ready to play before he's started to decline, so all he'd do is needlessly better the team in 2023, a year that they absolutely need to have good lottery odds if they are truly rebuilding. I would sell anyone that can fetch a 1st, especially a 2023 1st, and tank for Bedard, Michkov, and Fantilli.

While I certainly agree he's worth more than Eichel, if you're going to rebuild, this is a decent offer on that top 7 pick alone. I'd substitute Foote for Johnsson and probably add a condition that can make that '23 pick a first rounder but I feel like this is a really good offer for a player who will likely be entering his decline at the end of the rebuild

Bratt has more points this year in less games. And has a positive +/- (with first line minutes on a team with no goaltending). And is younger. Need I go on?

Bratt all-strength goals/60 1.38 points/60 3.62
DeBrincat all-strength goals/60 1.58 points/60 2.45

You want to argue DeBrincat is better because he scores more? fine. You want to pretend Bratt isn't in the conversation? You're wrong.

I love Debrincat but I don’t think this would be a great move by Devils. Russian prospects are never traded because they would never get full value. And the 2022 1st pick alone could return a player of equal value for our competitive window. Besides, Blackhawks will want to keep their guy, so little chance we are going to value him more than they do.

And…considering cost, Kubalik could be a better value to us.

Bratt has 0.63 assists per game. Debrincat has 0.30 assists per game
Imagine comparing goals for a sniper vs a playmaker
That means Kreider is better than McDavid
If you're going to make an argument, at least make it logical geez
