If he's available, how much more makes this trade work? Compared to the below trades, I'm offering a perfectly reasonable amount, including Chicago's pick of some A-/B+ prospects.
- Jack Eichel: 1st, 2nd, Tuch (2nd liner), Krebs (B+)
- Taylor Hall: 1st, 3rd, Bahl (B/B-), Merkley (??) (Edit: the 3rd had the conditions to become a 2nd or 1st, they just weren't met)
If he isn't available for a reasonable price, how do you plan to start a rebuild centered on a guy who's already 24? Nobody you draft this year and beyond will be ready to play before he's started to decline, so all he'd do is needlessly better the team in 2023, a year that they absolutely need to have good lottery odds if they are truly rebuilding. I would sell anyone that can fetch a 1st, especially a 2023 1st, and tank for Bedard, Michkov, and Fantilli.
