He's good in the AHL. And i know it's just the AHL but he's young. Is there any way you'd do it without Rattie in the deal?

He's at the point where most of his development is done. And he really hasn't been that good in the AHL either. You don't have a lot of young talent for me to choose from. I would need Gaunce, a future second, and a third

Lol. I'm just trying to find something that works for me and still gives the other person a benefit. I ended up with too many dedicated centers so really trying to find Plekanec a home and take a winger instead. If I have to make an amazing 4th line with the salary of a top 6 line for a season ... oh well. I'd be more willing to except Pouliot in a lesser role. Plekanec is maligned simply because his offense decreased in proportion to his salary, but he's still one of the better shut down C's in the game.

The other guys were just for a possible added benefit. Greene may not be able to play any more, so he may end up being LTIR or retiring, in which case his cap hit virtually disappears. I'm not as familiar with Hansen's situation, but I'm guessing he's not done playing yet, so his salary will most likely remain on the books.

You looked like you might be able to use a veteran C, but I can understand not wanting a $6M veteran C, so I just tried to make the salary work out for you somehow.

To have less cap space? Brown makes slightly more money over more term, and is a better player when healthy. No way I'm giving up Dauphin to take a worse, more expensive player
