Severson is more valuable to us than Boeser. Take him out and the deal looks realistic.

Zacha + 2nd for Boeser

Nah..NJ needs a top end winger..and severson is definitely a great player don't get me wrong..but he's also 27 and NJ has a lot of D so they can afford to loose severson, if it means bringing in a top player like boeser..also it wouldn't be a 1 for 1..NJ would likely have to add something else on top of seversen. If not then it would likely be zacha+Smith or bahl and mid round pick for boeser

In a Severson for Boeser swap, Canucks would likely have to add....

RFA wingers are cheap (ie, Buchnevich, Reinhart)
RHD are expensive (ie, Risto, Savard)

Devils are actually 14th in the league in scoring right now...They don't need a goal scorer as much as they need defensive defensemen and healthy goalies...

Bratt and Mercer would be ahead of Brock at this point, along with Sharangovich finally finding his game again just 2 points behind...


Brock has 4(!) more points than Zacha. Not sure he is that top end winger you guys are trying to sell so hard on. Certainly not one worth a top 3 defender for a team, and then a pick on top of that.

Then considering the Devils would have to pay him UFA years...

That is why he isn't worth Severson, whom the Devils could trade for far more value if they did indeed want to trade him at max value.
