Lol…. EASY PASS from Buffalo

Yeah, Olofsson’s value is down bc he’s been playing injured this season & not producing as much as normal

But that doesn’t mean we’re gonna SELL LOW
He’s an RFA, we’ll just keep him

Reeves- 4th liner
Chytil- 3C
Late 3rd round pick

NONE of that even COMES CLOSE to moving the needle for a proven top6 goal scorer imo

Disagree with my fellow Sabres fan on trading Olofsson - I'd traded Olofsson but not for that mess, Chytil is an unmotivated dog and that's on a playoff team is a big city market, in Buffalo he'd fake his own death - Reeves is on an expiring contract and a late third is pretty much nothing - I'd suggest Gauthier and st louis 2nd with a 4th from buffalo coming back

I suppose the answer maybe it is an OK trade.
To my fellow Sabre fans, Chytil is not given prime ice time (12:32 min/gm) nor prime line mates.
Nearly 45% of his ice time this year is with Julien Gauthier, 3 g 6 pts; Alexis Lafreniere, 13 g 17 pts; Sammy Blaise, 0 g 4 pts and Dryden Hunt 3 g 10 pts for a grand total of 19 goals and 37 pts (less than either Thompson or Skinner).
Olofsson's production on the other hand is in steady decline 20 to 13 to 8 goals, he is 3 years 10 months older than Chytil and he has spent 36% of his ice time this year with Skinner and Thompson.
Reeves does not add any value to the Sabre line up other than grit.
I am inclined to side with the Ranger comments here and presume a 22 yo former first round pick, has a brighter future than a 26 yo seventh round pick.

50% of Olofsson's goals in his career have come on the PP, so if he were traded to the Rangers, he loses half his potential production because he won't see much if any PP time. Our 1st PP unit plays almost every minute of PP time and no way he cracks that unit. So there is no reason to add him because there are other RW options that are better 5v5, which is their real need.

Reaves add so much more than grit to any line up, and this Buffalo fan see's it. No chance the Rangers trade him.

So other than my assessment of Reaves, which is a minor piece of the trade, I said: " am inclined to side with the Ranger comments here and presume a 22 yo former first round pick, has a brighter future than a 26 yo seventh round pick." How is that different from what you think of the trade?
You do understand what I said!
Because as I read your reply to my comment, it appears you presume that I think the Rangers should make this trade and you are trying to convince otherwise.

I read your comments and agree with them, was just adding another reason trading for Olofsson makes little sense for the Rangers. Not an attack, just a comment.

I apologize.
I may have been overly sensitive to other ACGM's who after I say I agree with you, will write a lengthy comment telling me why my first opinion was wrong.
The bottom line, I agree, Drury would not offer Chytil, Reeves and a third for Olofsson.
