One does not simply trade a player at his lowest value when they aren't a soon to be UFA. That blues trade is MAD. Could just do Lindholm for a 1st and b prospect. IDK

Edit: RFA to UFA

Nope, easy no for Minnesota. Dumba is coming back and we have calen addison in Iowa. Wild aren't going to playoffs now that they are in 8th place and have lost 10 of 11

Take Comtois out of the STL trade, he isn’t going anywhere

Getzlaf is not going to be traded so let’s get rid of that trade as well

He might want to chase a ring with his buddies Scorey and the rig,but TB doesn't have the cap space unless someone legitimately gets hurt. No they don't have a magical cap circumvention card.

Could see ANA trading Comtois in the offseason for another young change-of-scenery candidate based on the athletic's reporting, but wouldn't do that if i were ANA. But not as part of a deadline deal

Could see Lindholm to be a bidding war between STL, TOR, and FL if ANA can't re-sign him, in which his price as a rental w/retention would be 1st (or equivalent) + good prospect + what's needed to make cap work. think the prospect would need to be better than Klostin.

Getzlaf has said he doesn't have the personality to emulate Perry, think he stays put.

Take out Comtois coming back to Blues (no need to take on his cap). Take out the 2nd back to the Ducks.

Kostin / Scandella / 1st / 3rd
For
Lindholm ($2.6 m retained)

Seems about right

The 3rd is for dumping Scandella. And for Lindholm with 50% retention you'd likely have to include a better prospect than Kostin.

1. Scandella isn’t a pure dump - he’s a useful player.
2. The 3rd is still in my post…
3. I took the 2nd and Cumtwat out…
4. Armstrong won’t overpay for a rental and deadline is shaping up to be a buyer’s market.
5. When Blues traded for Jay bouwmeester who was also a pending ufa at time, Blues only gave up a first and 2 marginal prospects in Reto Berra and Mark Cundari. Kostin is much better player than either of those two ever were.

1. Okay, let's say Scandella is simply added (without the Ducks "paying" extra) not dumped.
2. Yeah, I know. And? What's your point? Never said anything that would contradict that.
3. Once again, I know, I can read, and now? What's your point?
4. Could be. But seeing that Lindholm is one of the best "available" D-men, another team would likely outbid this.
5. That was 9 years ago. Not really comparable.

Turn the 3rd into a 2nd:

2022 1st
2023 2nd
Kostin
Scandella

for

Lindholm

He is prob worth that but don’t see blues doing for a rental. Would only do if had chance to resign and unless Lindholm’s number starts with a $6 which I don’t think it does, don’t think they would trade that many futures for him
