Description
I’m a Devils fan, not a Rangers fan. I *think* these prices work.

I think Dallas ends up selling and building towards next year. An extra late first and Kakko (who I’m not fond of) should match Pavelski’s asking price and NYR get the 2C that they need.

Rakell shouldn’t be an egregious price, but he fills a need as a top 6 wing that I don’t think Kakko can be.

The price on Chychrun is where I get a bit cloudy. It would have to start with Georgiev, obviously. I think Nemeth needs to go to Arizona to make the cap work (they’ll likely also be selling more players and will need to make the cap floor). A 1st next year plus other picks could get it done. May need to add a high end prospect, but I’m not sure.

Thoughts? I hate to say I think this puts the Rangers over the top and I could see this team taking the Eastern Conference and potentially the Cup.

Major Overpay to Dallas trade and Major Underpay to Arizona. Swap Kakko and the 2022 2nd from Dallas and Arizona trades and it’s even (take 3rd out of Pavelski trade too)

Clearly you’re not a Rangers fan. That Dallas trade is complete crap. Get real with that one. No chance Chychrun is acquired for so little as well. Seriously questioning if this is just a troll post.

How is Pavelski a major Overpay? He would lead the Rangers in scoring if he joined the roster right now. He’s old, but still excellent with 57 points in 54 games. You need to pay for that and they won’t give him up for nothing when they’re still in a playoff spot.

Its an overpay because Pavs would be a rental and the Rangers have to give up a 21 year old RW (which they need more of) and a 1st round pick for 20+ regular season games of Pav plus a playoff run. NO THANKS to that. That's something Glen Sather would do. Plus you are incorrect that he would lead the Rangers in scoring as Panrin has more points than him and Zib and Fox are right there. Plus, Pavs scoring would go DOWN as a Ranger because he would see very little PP time due to the presence of a guy named Kreider. All the way around, the Rangers say NO THANKS at that cost. And I am a big fan of Pavelski.

Dallas is not selling, they're very much in the playoff spot fight and Nill is fighting for his job so we're most likely going to be buyers this deadline. Not that NYR would do this anyway.

ANA and ARI trades need a lot of work.

exactly kreider is the best net front guy in the league on the pp. that's pavs #1 skill. rangers don't need that.

Why would you pay a young former 2nd overall pick who can very well become a star player and a first for a rental? If Pavelski had another year and was younger than yeah it would make a lot of sense, but Pavelski is a complete rental and it would be idiotic to trade a first and someone with so much value for a rental
