Pens say no so fast it's not funny. Rutherford is no longer GM, so your rationale is outdated. Hextall is the polar opposite of Rutherford.

Not to mention we have no need for either of those players.

I like the first two trades, but I think you're being overly optimistic on the Caps one -- we can't expect to get McMichael AND a first for Hampus. Plus, you can't make draft picks conditional upon re-signing a player any more.
