Boeser's 5v5 production is almost identical to Kapanen. I'm honestly not as high on Boeser as other people on here. I would much rather go after Garland.

Boeser's QO is 7.5M. Kapanen's is 800k and could be signed for about 2/3rd of what Boeser would cost. I'd take that, and air think Kapanen would fit really well in Vancouver

Boeser is a good player but that’s a bad contract. Not sure Vancouver even takes that. I’d rather have Rust get 6-6.5 per year. There’s no way Geno is taking half his current salary. I’m not buying this notion that he’s going to come back for next to nothing. I think 7-7.5 is likely the rate to keep him. Tanger starts at 8 and likely goes to 8.5. Claude Giroux? I’m not one to suggest a guy won’t sign for a rival as they almost always do… but that would be very bizarre and I don’t think he wants to be a yes man on Sid’s team given the bad history. Why trade Matheson over Pettersson? If we did trade him I think keeping POJ is almost a must.

I’d go after both. A top 6 of Guentzel-Crosby-Boeser and Rust-Malkin-Garland would be unstoppable

Makes the team worse in my opinion. Would rather resign Rust. Rust > Boeser. He has definitely out produced him(the last 3 seasons), much more physical and better 200 foot player. And better line-mate for Sid and Guentzel than Boeser.

I wouldn’t mind Boeser on the 2nd line with Geno but Pens would definitely have to move one of Matheson/Pettersson and Zucker and Kappy in that case. And don’t think that’s all doable. And need PO-J and his Entry Level deal as a 3rd pairing LHD.

    I would love a 2nd line on Heinen-Geno-Boeser

    And a 3rd line of O’Connor-Carter-E-Rod.

And what’s going on with Puustinen?? He isn’t a bottom 6 player. He’s like NicRobertson. A top 6 or bust. But I’m a fan, think he’ll be a good top 6 LW.

He’s not big enough, good enough defensively to play bottom 6 in the NHL though. Defiantly not on the Pens 4th Line with Blueger and McGinn.

Not like Poulin/Rust type player that can start out on the bottom 6 and move up to top 6 after he gets feet wet in NHL. You can’t play Puustinen on a line with McGinn and Blueger. You can Poulin though.

Boeser isn't worth that money though. $7M+ is someone like Forsberg or what Rust could potentially get. That's just money not well spent.

How does Malkin get 5M but Girioux gets 8M?

Vancouver declines, Matheson has a brutal contract you'd need to add to him for teams to take him off your hands.

Disagree, matheson has been very good this year. There will be a team that will pay assets for him
