Instead of Giroux

Description
Obviously, the value would have to be there for both teams so I'm wondering if this would get it done. I believe this addresses the needs of the Avs while also giving NYI some pieces they would like going forward. It would be tough to see Girard go but this set of moves gets the Avs closer to the Cup this year and through their window as UFA's such as Kadri and Burakovsky depart. I know it looks like a lot from the Avs but this roster looks better than the current one and I am clearly banking on Byram being back.

To Isles fans: what else would you need coming your way or do you feel like this is a good package? And, no, you can't have Toews back, LOL.

Do you feel like the price is right or did the Avs give too much? I know in-season deals are often lopsided but this feels like a "hockey trade" to me and would be similar to an offseason deal.

As an Islanders fan, I say deal. I think value for both teams is fair

I'd be sad to see Beau leave, but this deal would be great for the team. Maybe switch Jost with Compher???

That was actually my original thought then I changed it. JTC in Jost's place would be acceptable to the Avs.

Awesome.
Also, I'm assuming Kaut is basically an entirely depth guy, from his stats i'm looking at?
Helleson is still in college, so I think Lou would sign him when he feels appropriate

Kaut has the capability of being a 3rd liner but hasn't really been given a chance with the Avs - the brass never really felt excited about him but he has some skill and can PK. Helleson is finishing up his 3rd year so Lou would want to sign him right away and maybe just bring him on in to get some games.

I’d say it’s probably fair value
