Why would CBJ take an aging veteran for a young player, who seems to be finding a really good stride, who also wants to play in CBJ?

Because Schiefele is more proven, is cheaper, and has ToP SiX UpSIdE

Don't see Jarmo doing Scheifele and Laine 1 for 1. Both Laine and Klingberg will want full term and you're still roster players short with 0 cap space too boot.

All the trades are terrible for the Jets. Trading good players at a fraction of their value, along with bad and unneeded UFA signings, doesn't make Winnipeg better.

Columbus already has Jenner, Rosolvic and Sillinger as their Centers. They really don't need Scheifele And why would Scheifele waive for a team that's still a long ways away from seriously contending?

He's also closing to 30, compared to Laine who is turning 24 and doing better this year. Laine fits to CBJ's plans much better time-wise.

Trade Scheifele to a team where he'd make a major impact. that's not Columbus he'd just be wasting his time for the next 2 years or so.

I can't tell if you're joking. either way, bad take. Schiefele was proven years ago, but hasn't been good this year. A rebuilding team wouldn't want to trade a young player who has voiced that he wants to be a part of the team moving forward (which is difficult for CBJ) for an aging guy who won't be resigning with CBJ. CBJ will not only get nothing for this trade, but also lose a first and a potential franchise-establishing player.

The idea of getting Laine back is a sweet thought; so would getting rid of Scheifele; which was one of the reasons Laine wanted out; if the reports are true, but I don't think Columbus does the deal.

Essentially getting rid of Demelo for a massive overpay for Klingberg isn't a good move.

Trade Stanley and Dillon, and replace them with Heinola and Samberg and we're good for puck movement out of the back end and the salary cap.

Gus is going to be the 4th line center next year, and Reichel is still a year or two away from being a consistent NHLer.

Yeah, um, no. Laine fits our competitive window timeframe. Scheifele doesn't.

i dont think laine will sign a deal in winnipeg. i think thats why they traded him out to begin with.

i dont love copp and statsny for debrusk and a 2nd. i think copp is slightly overpaid we already have that in coyle dont need another overpaid center.
