To those who said Pavelski will go for very little at the deadline because of his NTC and that he wouldn’t re-sign with Dallas, you can all suck it.

And to that Pens fan (pretty sure everyone knows who I’m talking about) who said he won’t get more than Zucker because Dallas will trade him for pretty much nothing to help another team (his favourite team) win the cup, you were extremely wrong. @F50Marco you were right all along.

I also think that GM's will talk with Bettman about this and with each other and the Russian prospects to come to a decision

I think Mrazek will be moved next offseason, either to NJ or ARI. Both of these teams have cap space and need goalies.

Leafs are probably bringing in a completely new tandem for next year, most likely consisting of UFA goalies.

Watch them rocking a Holtby-Lankinen tandem next year lol.

Next year NJD will have blackwood and Bernier back, no need for mraze,

Bernier is a question mark, he might be on LTIR for good. And both of those goalies are a bit injury prone, which has been proven this year.

Surely there's another teams as well. BUF and EDM comes to mind. BUF is still lacking an actual NHL goalie and it wouldn't surprise me too much if Holland was after his old goalie too.

Still think ARI is the most logical option. Rocking an all-czech tandem in Vejmelka-Mrazek sounds plausible to me.

Bergy's not here anymore but there shouldn't be a moral issue to drafting Russian yet

Yeah exactly.

The market is gone bonkers. I don't see many sellers, nor do I see many buyers.

if the u.s. is going to go to the lengths of banning ALL imports that should also stick to hockey players. sports as a whole is an entertainment business and players are commodities.

Sure there is if you're asking Hasek lol. He's not a fan.

I wonder if this goes on for over a year, what's going to happen with Michkov. He's probably the most talented prospect since McDavid and he could be bound to be a 5th round pick.

Nah, there's a lot of sellers, just not too many buyers, and, GM's now value almost every player at a 1st apparently

Gouvernements banning Russian players from participating in sports leagues is discrimination at that point, they are US citizens or have a US visa, they don't represent Russia or have an impact on Russian decisions in any way

😩. Question.

Why

Short answer. Tampa Bay.

The trend in this league has been for a while to copy those who succeed. Now every seller think that they can demand more because it has lead to success in the recent past.

But when teams consider that they're not exactly TB, they start second guessing their value. Which ultimately leads to the fact that making trades isn't just worth it.

And well there's also the fact that the majority of pending UFAs traded as rentals are already part of contending teams. Teams in the bottom of the league don't have many pending UFAs this year.

Fine, I'll fix that a bit.

I don't see many reasonable sellers. They all want to copy how things have went in the past for succeeding teams, which has been overselling depth assets to contenders.

😩. Question.

Why

primarily, theres 12 current teams in the west out of 16 that could make it. realistically that leaves a maximum of 12 teams as sellers unless someone bows out and takes themselves out of a spot but those middlers might not buy or sell too.

detroit, ottawa, buffalo, montreal, columbus, nyi, njd, philly, chicago, arizona, seattle, and sjs

so you go from teams already being stacked and against the cap... i.e. toronto, tampa, florida, colorado. then you add in theres likely more sellers than buyers right now. market just isnt good this year for rentals. like dallas without heisky... do you add to that roster just to miss the playoffs? do you sell just to make it?

It's happening in other sports already. FIS banned Russian cross-country skiers for example. Russian drivers in motorsports have been fired.
