Description

First off, these should be the defensive pairings for Colorado if you go by CF%, xGF%, etc. Toews and Makar are magic, but so are Toews, Girard and Byram, Makar. Murray and EJ have been good as well based on these stats, so I don't think any big D acquisition is needed.

What is needed is someone to play with Newhook on the third line. Here I have Compher and Helm out, Jarnkrok and Stastny in.

Supposedly (per Denver media) Seattle was heavily considering Compher for the xdraft. Assuming that's true, they obviously like him at least some. They gain a pick and get a player they apparently like in this proposal. They might be able to do better, but I feel like this is in the realm of possibility.

Winnipeg gets a pick and a prospect for Stastny, who I wouldn't think is worth anything more than a late second. I'm open to different packages, but I thought Bowers could be a useful piece in their bottom six in the future.

I think Stastny would be a perfect fit even though he's not flashy. You're probably overpaying but with the limited draft capital COL is faced it'll be hard to land someone like Stastny who should return a 2nd round pick all day for contending teams.

I think that's a little too much tbh. If paying a 2nd (which I'd consider), I don't think Colorado needs to add. Some of the retention could be dropped from the deal if that helps.

Murray and EJ look pretty good based on the stats referenced in the description. They have managed pretty positive xGF% and CF% despite dzone starts. I think they might end up working pretty well as the third pairing.
