for maybe the last time I am trading guys who I think are tradeable

Created by: Borocop
Team: 2021-22 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 7, 2022
Published: Mar. 7, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
this is not super realistic as brown and zub probably dont get traded nor does paul

probably undersold some of the trades in terms of overall value but oh well, this team is definitely worse off in the near future but has some more pieces they can use to build around the core so its chill.

Arizona isnt moving Barrett. Hes the best centre prospect they got. Hes shown some flashes this year did you see that end to end goal? Brannstrom is undersized and puts up no points

Leafs easily decline, you're not getting a top prospect and a first for two depth pieces. Leafs counter with a 3rd and a 6th

i mean theyre both largely underwhelming thus far but the sens probably add to get that swap done in fairness. Brannstroms is probably closer to a swap for a guy like studnicka but thats no fun to do because ive done it before

Zub would arguably be the 2nd best defenseman on TML (depending on your feelings on TJ Brodie). He's got positive goal differentials and nearly even shot differentials on a bad Ottawa team where he spends nearly half his ice time being dragged down by Nick Holden.

this guy gets it, and "depth piece connor brown" is on pace for 50+ points over 82 games for the third season in a row

i think as an objective hockey fan id probably take brodie over zub as well, but i also think right now zub would unquestionably be their third-best defenseman

I think that it's close though. Regardless, Zub is -at worst- the 3rd best D on TML. Mostly trying to refute the point another poster made that trading for Zub, a guy who immediately slides into the top 4, and Connor Brown (a guy with 30 points in 41 games, a literal 60 point pace) is only worth a 3rd & 6th.

I dont think its that close, muzzins out and been shaky but when muzzins on his game im taking him over zub as well. he would be top 4 yeah, and i like brown but i still think its an overpay. just cause they were drafted in 3rd and 6th doesnt mean theya re a 3rd and 6th, the leafs traded down from when you guys chose kleven and niemala is better than kleven

As a Rangers fan, I would pull the trigger on this. 2nd may be a little steep, but for this year all for it. Paul would be a nice addition to the bottom 6.

Don't get me wrong, Zub is great, and I think I'd do this trade, but Brodie is easily better then Zub.

If you want Niemela, you should have drafted him. Dubas has no reason to give him up for two cap dumps
