No from Winnipeg. The Jets don't have The cap space for Compher next year.

We won't be retaining on Kulak, we will have to retain on Chiarot to get a 1st and others just to make them tradable (Byron, Hoffman, Armia or Savard). Kulak is already pretty cheap and upgrading a 4th to a 3rd isn't worth not being able to retain on some of the others.

I'm not so sure about that... I think the Jets could make it work with no Copp or Stastny to re-sign. Compher being a right shot is a big bonus for the team

I really like Jarnkrok and Kulak for the Avs as cost effective additions.

Looking at next year, it seems like cap trouble is brewing: $11M to sign 5 RFA's and PLD and still fill a few more roster spots. I guess they could try to take on the Weber contract but it still seems difficult.

Other than PLD those RFAs all all be under $1 million, and I don't expect them all to be on the team still. Also, I expect the Jets will be doing some kind of tinkering next season: they will need to replace Copp/Stastny somehow, so I think there's a chance a big salary on D is moved out.

But you are absolutely correct that there is a big cap headache next year (and the year after).

Also, just as a heads up, adding more LTIR salary doesn't grant a team more cap space. This is a very common misconception with LTIR (you aren't alone), but LTIR provides cap "relief" rather than cap "space". So, the Jets currently have the same salary cap as every other team in the league with Bryan Little on LTIR, they just get (most of) his salary taken off. So if you take Little out of the equation, the Jets would still be under the 81.5 cap with their active roster
