1) That Ehlers trade is illegal, a player can't return to their original team over the course of the same season. It would have to be for the next season at the earliest.

2) I highly doubt Winnipeg is moving their best winger, even if they decide to sell.

3) You're very likely to face stiff competition for Weber's contract. One for which is sounds like Guerin is heavily interested in acquiring, and given our dead cap the next three seasons it makes absolute sense for him to do it.

Furthermore, all other teams likely in the hunt for Weber's contract can and will outbid Sweeney for it. Then throw in the fact that Montreal and Boston are division rivals who pretty much hate eachother, I can't see Montreal helping out the B's in any way shape or form.
