Team: 2021-22 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 8, 2022
Published: Mar. 9, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Holloway, Dylan
  2. Koskinen, Mikko
  3. 2023 4th round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Chytil, Filip
  2. Georgiev, Alexandar
  3. Lundkvist, Nils
  4. 2022 2nd round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
Georgiev gives Edmonton an upgrade on Koskinen, Lundkvist is a top prospect, and the 2 (2022) for 4 (2023) is to compensate for the fact that Holloway is a center. Edmonton can use a puck moving RHD more than a C and the Rangers can use a C more than a puck moving D. Trade breaks down as Chytil/Lundkvist plus a pick for Holloway, instead of a 1 it turns to a 2/4 swap bc of Koskinen confract.
2.
MTL
  1. Gauthier, Julien
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Gauthier is a big, fast F who needs an opportunity to play minutes and montreal is rebuilding. Despite reports, I don’t see Lehkonen getting more than a 2nd plus roster player and Gorton gets a guy he acquired while with the Rangers plus the pick. Rangers get a solid 3rd liner and Finn for Kakko
3.
CBJ
  1. Reunanen, Tarmo
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Reunanen is a guy who deserves a chance and with the Rangers he is blocked by better prospects. JD loves him. He snags a pick on top of it for a pending UFA in Domi who offers the Rangers some grit and flexibility in the top 9
4.
NYR
  1. McBain, Jack [Reserve List]
MIN
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (NYR)

Georgiev + kravtsov + 2nd for lehky
2nd turns into 3rd if kravtsov signs in MTL, and plays 30 games.

Those are not the right peices for Montreal, we don't need anymore goalies or RW. Plus you can't put resigning conditions on picks anymore

Disagree. Grabner went for 2nd plus Rykov a few years back, and he had like 20 goals. Bottom 6s sometimes go for 1sts but there are only so many 1sts to go around, It is unlikely a team gives up a 1st for Artturi, but there may be one GM who does. Unlikely to be Drury. And I think Gorton knows and likes what Gauthier brings and thinks he can get in on Tuch-lite before he breaks out. Gorton knows the value of 2nd round picks.

I can see Kravtsov for Lehkonen, but I don’t think they’d give up much beyond Vitaly. Honestly hoping they hold him and force him to come play with the team before trading him away below value

I think Edmonton rejects that. Georgiev was bad again last night. McBain trade is an overpay...just wait until he becomes a FA (no guarantee he would sign with NYR). Montreal and Columbus reject. Probably something along the lines of Krav & 2nd for Lekky.

Quick refusal from Columbus. Pick is too low, and I don't care how much you say JD likes Reunanen, Kekalainen's the one who makes the decisions and I'm pretty sure he's well aware we have enough LHD to stock two NHL teams.
