Kerfoot can play C if needed and is on pace for like 55 points, which we'd need if JT or AM got hurt. That said I like Manson and I think Comtois could bounce back in the right situation (playing with JT and Willy?) and has RFA control

Agreed about KErfoot if Tavares or Matthews goes down, think they would ever try Nylander up the middle again? I mentioned in one of the other posts for this deal that looking at it now I think the final retention slot that Anaheim has would be better spent on retaining half of Manson as opposed to brokering a deal for Kerfoot, if that's the case Comtois+ would be a nice deal for a bottom 6 C but it certainly creates a lot more work for Dubas.

Interesting concept.

Having Brodie, Manson, Boosh, Holl & Liljegren on the RD probably makes this of little interest overall. The trade for Boosh has gone highly understated on ACGM.

Liljegren absolutely does not get in the lineup over Boosh or Holl.

Comtois would be a nice addition for cost comparison VS Kerfoot-- but otherwise it's a lateral move, IMO.

Comtois was more or less added so that in Manson walks at the end of a playoff run there is some remnants of the deal in Toronto and it's not pure rentals plus a little more team control going forward. I agree with you about the crowded right side I think this would be a quality over quantity add though. Brodie, Manson, Lyubushkin is a solid right side and has a little bit of everything. Take some of the Dzone starts off of Brodies plate.

Boosh is already taking some of those D starts-- and if Muzzin comes back healthy, he and Holl will take a large % of the D zone starts.

Manson is an upgrade, but not enough of one here to sit out 3 NHL level players (Liljegren, Holl & Dermott).

Muzzin is a huge x factor in everything above.
Of the three guys that you have in you comment, who are you most comfortable riding in the playoffs?? Let's say the left side is Rielly, Muzzin, Sandin the right side is Brodie, ____, Lyubushkin. If you pick the right D man the Leafs win the cup, who are you taking?

That's kind of what I thought too. I think you could find a reason for Anaheim and Toronto to both say no, Flames bias certainly plays into it a bit even if unintentionally.

I don't think the difference between Holl & Manson is what separates TOR from being a cup contender.
I'm just as comfortable keeping Kerfoot & Holl, as I would be Comtois & Manson. So in your hypothetical, I keep Holl.

in a pinch they'd put him at C but that's a last resort type option. Has very little experience down the middle at the NHL level, don't want that to be your "one injury away depth option"

If Muzzin's back Severson, if Muzzin's not Manson. Think Muzz would do better with a more 2 way guy whereas Sandin would need the big physical shutdown D

Severson would be a seriously good target for the Leafs. A guy you rarely hear about out west, would have never thought of it.
