It's a below-league minimum deal on a guy who can come up as the 13th forward if he has to. There are worse ways to use your 50 contract spots.

Carolina fans definitely remember. He’s a hero in Raleigh. An honourary citizen. He goes down once a year to crank the ceremonial siren. They may not remember that Clifford was the one who caused it, but it makes a good story for a team with a relatively short history, so the Caniacs thank him for that.

I expect that Mrazek has gotten over it. If he held a grudge against everybody who has caused him an injury during his career, he might have a tough time finding a team free of enemies.

Agree with the last part, Mrazek is very injury prone, he would not have been the goalie that I would have picked for the Leafs, someone with less of an injury history, and it showed in the first game against Ottawa, out for like two months.
