I feel like you're overpaying for Hanzal and I'm not sure if he's a big enough upgrade over Barbashev or Berglund to be a top 6 center. Also don't know why you're moving Perron, guys been great this year. Still a good roster but I also think a second rounder is a big price to get rid of Lehtera.

I dunno about Hanzal. Looks like a big overpay (I know he's UFA, but still) for a guy who has very similar career numbers and playing style to Berglund. Good player, but another 2C/3C to add to the gang of them we already have. We would fare the same with Stas-Bergy-Barby-Brodz as 1-4C than if we added Hanzal IMO.

I think Lehtera + 2nd is decent enough to get a look from Vegas, considering the other exposed options won't be very beneficial.

Parayko: I think we'll either sign him for the rest of team control - 3 yrs, 4.5M - or go big with 7-8 yrs, 5.5M. Anything in between puts us in a Shatty-type situation.

I was also looking at NYI for a landing spot for Perron. Depending on the development of their youth, they might want to add another good forward, especially since Ladd doesn't seem be the player they were hoping for.

I don't dislike Perron, but we are going to have a glut of forwards and I think they will give Agostino a shot, so Perron is definitely expendable. For a bigger guy he's very weak on the puck, which is fine for regular season but not so much in the playoffs. I chose Hanzal because he is a huge body, puts up good points, and is a beast in the faceoff circle. Hanzal is definitely an upgrade over Bergy as a number 2 guy, plus it makes the 3rd line that much better. I had to pay him that much because of his FA situation, plus if Stastny walks after this year we have 7 plus million to go find a #1 guy. The Lehtera deal is tough but that's a huge salary for a benched player under contract for 2 more years, and there may be up to 2 takers (ARZ and LV). Parayko is fine, I understand AK's concerns and would prob bump him over 5million for longer term (still have adequate money in the budget). Gunnarsson was a victim of numbers but I think the Leafs will take a flier on him as Polak could be done for a long time into next yr (if they chose to re-sign him). I'd hope the Blues would look to trade Bouwmeester this upcoming season and get value for him. I think the prob we ran into with the Shatty deal is that he had no term left. Detroit had offered Nyquist plus pick and prospect near the start of the year, so it doesn't always pay to wait. 20/20 hindsight of course.
