0 chance MTL trades Anderson to a rival team.

Montreal easily declines
Really? I'm not sure what's the mythical thing about Anderson... I mean, I know how he looks like on TV but damn, he's an almost 28 y/o forward who barely produces over 0.5 PPG and is signed FIVE (5) more years at a whooping 5.5 AAV
You get an offer like that, you take it and run.
Let's compare the last 2 seasons with another guy mentioned in this ACGM, who would return only a 5th round pick...
Josh Anderson (28 y/o, LW/RW, 5 years x 5.5 AAV)
0.49 PPG (98 GP)
53 CF% despite 58.3 oZS%
vs
Nick Paul (27 y/o, LW/C, UFA)
0.33 PPG (111 GP)
~46 CF% despite ~68 dZS%
So on one side you have a top-9 offensive forward who doesn't PK and produces around 0.5 PPG despite 15 mins at ES and 2 mins on the PP, with tilted offensive deployments; on the other hand you have a defensive forward who WILL be paid 50% (was much cheaper until now) of what the other guy does but has produced 11 less points in the last 2 seasons despite barely any PP TOI and with heavy defensive deployments.
Nick Paul received Selke votes last season and :

12th in ES defense WAR, just behind Philipp Danault.
