Subban's an awful option. Guys so bad he's been demoted to the 3rd pairing and kicked off the powerplay in New Jersey. He hasn't been able to play for 3-4 seasons now.

Lyubushkin was supposed to be lightyears better than Holl and Dermott and he's not been better than Holl so far. He's playing 3rd pair with Holl and Liljegren ahead of him

Subban is not a fit. Holl fills the role we ask him to just fine.

If Muzzin can come back healthy, I am more than comfortable with Muzzin & Holl as our shutdown pairing.

If TOR is adding a defenseman, it needs to be a sizeable upgrade, or it's insurance for Muzzin not playing capable top 4 minutes. I'm a Sandin fan, but he's not ready to play top 4 playoff minutes in defensive situations.

Yikes Muzzin and Holl shut down pair will not get it done. Hasn't yet in previous years and still won't.
Muzzin is too slow now and Holl can't be protected like he use to be.
Subban is not the answer but if we keep this same story going, it's another first round exit and lots of this group will be changed

If Muzzin is the problem-- write the season off as we're not going far, regardless of who comes in.

I agree it will be. It's a must they do what Tampa did and have Muzzin come back as a 5-6 in Playoffs. Pick up a top end D man on the deadline.
As what they have now is not good enough for Defense without stellar goaltending.

No one is making anything up about Subban other than Devils fans. No one in the NHL sees Subban as a good option anymore. He's way down all the trade bait boards, out of the top 30 on most, despite the team wanting to move him and an expiring contract. For some reason Devils fans think he's still an option for teams but he is massively overpaid in a season where most playoff teams have been operating in LTIR for most of it. He's not going to get moved.

And yes, people make up stuff about Subban all the time. Devils fans are constantly told what Subban “really is” by people who never watch him play. You should see some of the stuff we read.
