This signing is just to save face from wasting the 14th overall pick and a 2nd round pick to get him in the first place.

I voted no.

Precisely my thought. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, trading him this deadline and getting SOMEthing back for him, instead double's-down in a misguided attempt to save face.

I really wanna punch the me from 10 months ago in the face for actually wanting the Jackets to acquire this guy. I saw that he played the right side, and Buffalo was selling him for cheap, and thought that was enough.

TBH, Korpisalo and a 3rd round pick would be an overpayment for him.

Buffalo *fans. I should have said that. Couple of BUF fans thought that Korpi + 2022 3rd for Risto was an acceptable deal.

And the flyers ran Hexy out of town... sheeeesh

He's the reason they are in the current state they are in. Scott and Co are just re-arranging the lifeboats. Fletcher changed it up, had a solid team pre-Covid and they just couldn't put it back together.

Deal itself is okay for Philadelphia, it's just not the time to sign him. They need a full reboot.

I voted No because I thought we were supposed to vote from the perspective of the team. If we were supposed to vote from the perspective of the player or of the rest of the League, I would have voted Yes.

I thought the biggest issue with ownership and Hexy is that he wanted to wait longer to develop his players properly. Hart and Frost being the main sticking points. Ownership was desperate for Carter Hart to be ready, but Hexy wanted him to develop at a slower pace. Is that incorrect?

With the high price they paid for him, they didn't really have a choice to keep him.

You can scream as much as you want, but a defenceman with points will get paid even if their defense play is lacking.

See Myers, Gardiner, De Haan, Brodie, Skej...

It's already 53-3 for no, lol, Philly overpaid for Risto then decided, what if we extended the player we overpaid for and sucks

Hextall was unwilling to move future draft picks or prospects to make the team better. They could have had a chance at Ryan O'Reilly or Mark Stone, but Hextall was unwilling to make the team better. They had Provorov and TK on an ELC, Couturier on his 4.33M contract, etc. and just waited.

Fletcher comes in and changes up the same core that hadn't won anything in the last 6-7 years. He goes in on Risto - an overpay in general, but the opportunity cost of not trying to make the team better would have been worse.

I imagine that Risto will be very effective in a playoff series when physicality amps up and the penalties are fewer.... but we'll never know.

No... Just No.

All those D men u posted don't put up points lol.
Don't even mention Brodie in the same sentence as Tyler Myers.
Brodie is the best in his own end on the Leaf's and their PK would suck without him.
Risto dose not desrve this contract and he dose not even produce offensively

Chart from last season but still
