So were getting rid of Olofsson, Miller (retained), Pysyk, AND Anderson for a Late 1st, AHL LD and an average Goalie? This would be terrible for the Sabres.

Yeah if Caps are giving up Sammy and 1st they could get a much better player than Olofsson.

If they don't move anyone else? No. But Hags is on LTIR for the rest of the season. And they can move guys like Schultz and Eller to clear more.

Whats the value on Samsonov anyhow? Seems like there was tension in the locker room last playoffs, maybe a change of scenery could do him some good

The value is probably not super high, which is another reason not to trade him. Won't get too much for him unless the team trading for him sees his true potential as a #1 goalie. I know Caps GM said recently they still see him as such so I don't think they move him unless the offer is really good (which it most likely won't be).

Fair enough Im pretty high on him still, he's still pretty young anyhow

Agreed. Where he struggles is the simple things in the game. If he can clean that up he'll be great still.
