Description
Though no formal request has been made, Konecny has been in the rumor mill for just as long as DeBrusk. While the Flyers keep waiting for him to get back to his point-per-game pace from 2019-20, at $5.5MM I would be fine to take a guy who has scored at a 53-point full season pace over the past two season on a bad Philly team. While Konecny is a better player, the Flyers can get out from under his contract in exchange for a lesser number and similar player in DeBrusk. They also get an immediate, affordable starter in Clifton for next season as they rebuild their defense corps, as well as a young forward prospect if DeBrusk does not work out and a second-rounder for Braun.

A couple of Buffalo UFA's get to finally play some meaningful hockey.

Buffalo declines, we aren't helping you for a 24 year old AHLer with 1 NHL goal, a random dude and a 5th

Pysyk and Hinostroza aren't exactly top of the market targets. Contenders are not adding them as starters, but as depth options and that isn't worth much. If the Sabres would rather hold on them for no reason and let them walk, so be it. I would rather take whatever capital I could get and save a little money.

For example, last year, Erik Gustafsson went for a 7th and Michal Raffl went for a 5th. Would you rather have that package?

Two players from philly the bruins should have no interest in, for two valuable pieces and a 2nd rounder. No thanks.

Rather keep Pysyk since we are short on RHDs
Hinostroza you can have for a 4th

Buffalo isn't looking to aid the Bruins in any way; especially after the Hall trade.

Lol please explain why the Bruins should have no interest in a younger, better, and more accomplished version of DeBrusk, who has asked for a trade and needs top be replaced art RW1, and a veteran RHD rental who plays 20+ minutes of solid defense at a low cost while we have Clifton and zero depth behind him at RD3.

Because he’s underperforming his contract. Would much rather have $5.5M in cap for the next four seasons.

Clifton is fine in his role.

I think we just disagree here. I feel like a) "fine" is not enough and Clifton needs to be upgraded (now and long-term) and Braun would be a great add and b) Konecny is not really underperforming his contract and certainly wouldn't playing on the top line. He is a much better investment given his age and ability than DeBrusk at a $4.4MM QO or swapping DeBrusk for a rental and having a hole in the lineup again next season.

It’s not like those are the only options with debrusk. His agent has said they will sign below the QO. Keep him for the season, tell him that the better he plays, the more teams will want to trade for him, and move him in the off-season.

Use that money elsewhere. With the flat, or flat adjacent cap, there will be plenty of bargains out there.

If you keep DeBrusk through the deadline, you lose all your leverage. DeBrusk can wait for the QO deadline for either a cushy fallback deal that the Bruins don't want or else he hits free agency where there will be more suitors and better contract terms given the competition.

Just qualify him.

Simple. Done.

Sigh. The point was you’re making it out to be a situation its not. No, the bruins don’t lose all leverage if they hold onto him for a playoff run. They don’t have to move him. And dear god konecny isn’t who they should be targeting

Gustafsson is LHD and are as you correctly observed do not carry much value at the TDL.
Raffl over his past 50 games has 6 goals and 13 points.
Over his last 56 games Hinostroza has 12 goals and 30 points.
So since you are using them as examples it is obvious Vinnie is >> Michal.
In general RHD>LDH and GM's over pay for them.
Buffalo will get more than a player who appear to have AHL quality and a college player who is the lowest rated LHD playing for Clarkson.
If you want to include Senyshyn to balance the roster, fine but Pysyk and Hinostroza will return more than your proposal.
