Miller with retention is worth way more than that trade.

Boston declines. They can just bring Lysell up and voila… Garland but a higher ceiling.

Unless the rangers have internally decided that Lafreniere stinks, they’re saying no.

Boston is definitely saying no.

Great commentary. How about an actual argument. If Zadina is a bust (which he isn't) then Lafreniere is a colossal bust. Rangers fans have been going on about how he's getting better but he's on a worse scoring pace than last year with an unsustainable shooting percentage. The retention alone is worth a 1st. Miller's a point a game player who plays all three positions. And that pick will be near the end of the round.

well for starters zadina is 2 years older. And lafreniere just got moved up to the first line about 10 games ago and has been great

They've played almost the same amount of games. And Zadina got 4 whole games on the first line of a much worse team.

Doesn't matter how many games they played hes still 2 years younger. Lets see what lafreniere is putting up when hes 22

So what is a player who’s top 10 in points this season, top 15 the last 3 seasons, who plays all 3 forward positions and special teams, with retention to 2.625M for this season and next worth? Because Lafreniere has not looked very good

It’s just not the kind of prospect/young player that gets moved for a year and a couple months of a player.

Whaaaaat? First off, yes. Zadina is a bust. He’s in his fourth year of professional hockey, and he stinks. That’s a bust for a 6th overall pick.

Teams don’t give up players like lafreniere in their second year of pro for a rental-plus.

No skin in the game here. I don’t like any of the three teams mentioned, this just seems obvious.

A year and a couple of months for a Top 10 point-getter that carries a team on his back. JT Millers > players like Landeskog, Tkachuk, Nylander, etc

No, and in his second year of pro, you would be foolish to make up your own mind.

Why would i launch into some sort of deep analysis? Is that what you want? It just really seems like what you’re saying is, “zadina isn’t a bust because he was drafted by my favorite team, so I’m going to stick my head in the sand and pretend he’s been good.” He’s stunk! The world knows it. He has four pro years, and hasn’t really been able to do anything. Heck, he didn’t exactly rip up the AHL.

It’s okay dude. Guys don’t pan out. My favorite team has plenty of busts. Think I’m gonna say the bruins 2015 draft turned out stellar? No. It sucked.
