Leafs:

Upgrade at top 6 forward who has a low cap hit (that will be hard and Montreal does not have that piece)
Goaltending Upgrade at low/mid cap hit (Montreal does not have this)
Top 4, big, defensive dman or all around dman, who preferably plays on the right with low to mid cap hit (Montreal has Chiarot but Leafs will only trade for him if they have no other long term options and if the price does not exceed a 1st round pick)

To sum it up - Leafs would be most interested in Chiarot but he will not be one of their first options. They can pay a 1st or equivalent in a prospect at MOST.

Chiarot could fill that top 4 LD spot, he played 25 minutes per game in last year playoffs and was really good. If not interested, maybe Edmundson makes a comeback to St-Louis, if he's healthy. Either could be yours for a 1st. Maybe add another pick or prospect for Eddy, he got 2 more years at 3,5M.

I think you're right, the price for Chiarot should not be more then a first. However, if we can send him elsewhere and still get a 1st, we probably do that. Not that we hate you, it's just... you know... smile

scandella would have to go back and unlike others im fine with trading for chariot as long as its like a 3rd
a second or first is way too much imo

It's crazy how you have such a good team, but i wouldn't rely on any of the goalie you have to get through the first round in the playoffs. I'm sorry we can't help you with that. I hope you find a good goalie somewhere. You should pay the price for Fleury, he's the best shot you guys have at going far in the playoffs. But he have to agree to go to Edmonton, as the Hawks promised him they would only trade him where he wants.

I know, but the thing is it's not really about Chiarot value, it's about his playoffs contribution (25 minutes a game, he's known as a mean D, which means refs let him crosscheck players in the playoffs) and rental statue (only cost about 1M on the cap). That, in the market, makes him worth a 1st. And trust me, someone will pay a 1st.

Allen's an upgrade over Mrazek I'd say and it'd be hard to get a prospect equivalent to a 1st from Toronto considering Amirov's issues and that every time someone mentions Topi or Knies the fan base want to kick you into another dimension for simply suggesting it. Abruzzese and Hirvonen are good but undersized often have a hard time adjusting to the NHL so I don't think they're 1st round pick worth at this time.
