Drop both MAF and CDH and the Hawks say yes. Otherwise, it's a no.

Didn’t we just go through this with Ritchie for like 2 months? Everyone saying it’s gotta be a high pick or top prospect and you get nothing back. How that deal work out after?

They are not trading a first and dermott to dump mrazek. His buyout is at worse a 1.4 mil cap hit. One year it’s 800k. They would buy him out or trade him and retain some before paying a ridiculous price.

This is a fair offer.

ehhh youre kind of discounting leverage and retention. that being said mrazek isnt a value add to this deal. so maf and CDH retained only being a first and dermott idk. guess it depends on how much chicago likes dermott. not really much value there as he cant really crack torontos lineup consistently. should say enough about the player.

And the Russian Bear is working out great...right??? since you got him you've only let up an average of 4.33 goals a game. Don't drink the Dubas cool-aid. That was a pure dump. Plain and simple. The Hawks will send back Erik Gustafsson if you want. That's not the issue. For the last 5 years Mrazek has a .905 SV % and a -17.9 GSAA. And the majority of that was in front of arguably the best defense in the NHL. He's been very bad for years. Now TOR fans are seeing it.

TOR should really just buy him out in the off season, but that won't help you in the 1st round of the playoffs. ABOVE is not even close to a fair offer. The Hawks would immediately waive both players.

They don't want Dermott at all. I'm not even suggesting he's terrible. The Hawks just have way too many Dprospects that need NHL ice time. He's a Cap Dump in their eyes.

He’s been fine. Not really much to do with him the amount of goals being allowed. Both goalies are struggling massively. It was mostly a dump but they got back a useful depth piece too is what I was saying.
Don’t get what the big reaction to the players are anyways you’d be getting a first for two pieces that probably won’t be back next year. As a rebuilding team having mrazek and/or dermott in your cap isn’t gonna matter.

It's just bad asset management. We can likely get a 1st for MAF (50% retained) without taking on $3.8M for 2 more years. At the very least it'll be a Lehner deal where it's a 2nd and prospect.

The Hawks took on Brett Connoly last year. $3.5M cap hit. 2.5 years left on his deal. Sounds pretty familiar. He's in the AHL (where Mrazek will go) and it cost Florida a 1st round prospect, a 2nd round prospect and a WHLer who's over a PPG. We can send back other guys like Erik Gustafsson, but in order to dump Mrazek you need both teams to say yes.

I mean ya sure make it sound like they gave up a first by saying former first rounder when borgstrom was drafted in the first round 5 years before the deal. He has 7 points in 41 games.

Mrazek would just be the cost of doing business. Only way MAF ends up in Toronto is if he says that’s the only place he will accept a trade. So I say hawks would be fine taking a salary dump and getting a first. You got him for nothing so that would be some fine work by the hawks in my opinion. They can prob rebuild value in mrazek and trade him too eventually.

This is just discounting Mrazek like he doesn't hurt the Hawks. This is terrible for the Hawks. You're right about MAF. The Hawks will absolutely give him full say. The Hawks should be taking on dumps, but they charge an arm and a leg...and appropriately so.
