Could just be a first for Manson, no need for a prospect or a third

More likely he gets a second and a prospect though

Minny is asking for a 2nd for McBain. Not 24 yo low-ceiling C-level prospects

1. He wants to sign in Toronto but Minny holds his rights. 23 other teams have also called on him.
2. Duszak is 24 yo and, honestly, does not have a high ceiling. I haven't heard any scout praising him.

you haven't heard any scouts praise him cause you're a minny fan that tunes out scouting for other teams. Low scoring league and having a ppg player that a dman is rare.

Again Minny has no leverage especially if he wants to sign in Toronto. Like I said he's a free agent on aug 15 and will leave minny then.

That's where you are wrong. Minny has all the leverage. If Toronto lowballs an offer, there are two dozen other teams McBain can be traded to. And there is also a reason for McBain to sign a deal elsewhere. If he burns the first year of his ELC this year, he can get a payday a year earlier. If he signs as a UFA, his ELC is for two years

No they don't. look at Adam fox lmfao.

The team with the rights has zero leverage, cause the player can walk whenever he wants.

Where did you read he wanted to sign in Toronto? The speculation was he didn't want to sign in Minnesota because Guerin would start him in Iowa and he wants to go somewhere that doesn't have center depth enough to bury him in the AHL, which doesn't seem to be Toronto either unless I'm missing something. Idk, maybe he does want to go to Toronto because he's from there or something but seems like a team rebuilding would be a more attractive path to being in the NHL for a player like McBain.

For the record, Adam Fox isn't exactly a good example for your argument because the Canes received 2 2nd round picks which isn't a bad return if they indeed had "no leverage" as you're suggesting.

Wrong. He wants to play right away, and burn a year off his contract. He's also looking for a team offering him top 4, top 6 role. So only Minnesota can give him that by trading him. So Minnesota declines this deal like your other argumentative Minnesota posts

I almost feel bad for him. If he had not looked as bad as he has the last number of games. But we know he does better as a starter than a reliever.

Don't think the Wild are looking for some journeyman AHLer in return for McBain. Probably looking for at least a 3rd, maybe a 2nd.
