Initial Creation Date: Mar. 11, 2022
Published: Mar. 11, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Comment below what players you want/what it would take or just in general what do you think this team should do to improve. I would make 1-2 trades, as well as call up Nylander, O'Conner, and Puustinen
Trades
1.
PIT
  1. Boeser, Brock
Additional Details:
Would possibly at Schenn for some defensive depth
VAN
John Marino + player/prospect (Rodrigues maybe?)
    2.
    PIT
    1. Miller, J.T.
    Additional Details:
This is unlikely, but would be my favorite move possible
    VAN
      Marino
      1st
      Prospects (Poulin, Legare)
      Kapanen
      POJ

Some combination of all of them. Which pieces would you include?

Kapanen or POJ + prospect/2nd round pick
        4.
        BOS
          Kapanen + 2nd or prospect

              1. Chiarot, Ben

Holy hell that Miller trade is bad! Yea let’s trade all of our most valuable trade chips for a season in a half of Miller. Ensures we sure aren’t making any other deals. That one is rough dawg. I’d pass on Boeser. His acquisition cost will probably be too high. Same with Forsberg. Lehkonen would sure be a nice add. Cost seems about right. Don’t think we will have a need for Chiarot cause I don’t think we move a defenseman. The one that sticks out to me is Rakell. He just seems like too good of a fit to pass up. Personally I don’t see him bringing in a 1st round pick. I think a good prospect and a 2nd seems right, but I guess I could be wrong.

The Miller one wasn't meant to be all the pieces I listed, just some combination of them. I was thinking more like 3 of them. I agree on Rakell though, he's a perfect fit for us. Especially if we can re-sign him quickly. I think he'd be way more valuable for this run and going forward than a late first round pick.

The problem with just putting "prospect" as part of the return in most of these proposals is that PIT doesn't really have any.

No offence, but those are some pretty marginal prospects. Every other team already has multiple guys at their level. If you're hunting for difference makers at the deadline, like Miller, Forsberg, Rakell, etc you're going to get outbid by any other interested buyer.

Yeah Montreal is really in need of another RW in his mid 20's that's looking for a raise considering they've already got 4 of them signed long term plus prospects coming soon.

Bruins should do DeBrusk for Kapanen and a 2nd. Thats a great deal for them
