Could drop the first in the Manson trade, Liljegren and a 2 or 3 is good enough

No way. Marner gets so much hate from certain Leafs fans. The guy is the best playmaker on the team & solid defensively. He is a terrific player and we don't appreciate him enough. Nylander is streaky and lazier on the defensive end. I'll take Marner every day over Willy

I think the Hawks would agree but do it and flip Kerfoot as he doesn't fit the rebuild plans, but not sure I'd do that if I were Toronto.

Is Chicago punting on the end of the Toews/Kane era and going full rebuild? I woulda thought they would do more of a "retool" honestly

Well it's a loose definition but the new GM did say they are rebuilding. Hard to know if that means 2 years or more. Kane will stick around is the feeling in Chicago and will be resigned after his current deal is up at the end of next season, less likely Toews.

I think Fleury is the perfect target for the leafs but it sounds like he may not be interested in going to Canada according to Pierre LeBrun.

At the end of the day
who shows up in the playoffs and who doesn't
Nylander is also 4 mill cheaper which can be used to strengthen the team elsewhere

putting emphasis on the main reason why Nylander is easier to move than Marner

not many teams can add that $10.9M, and the ones that can aren't one player away from being a contender.
