Quoting: SlevinKalevra
Barrie and Armia aren’t upgrades on Klinger and Kivi. Armia could be but hard to say. Bourque may or may not be ready. Peterson isn’t a top six forward. Benn and Guri need a better line mate than a past prime Loui. Dobby isn’t good any more.
Someone’s got to replace Klingberg because let’s face it, he’s not coming back, Barrie is the best fit for that job. Armia is an upgrade over Kiviranta for sure, Kiviranta has been pretty disappointing this year.
Peterson has played pretty good this year and I think he can do even better next year, if you don’t give the youth an chance you ruin them, this team is a perfect example. Bourque is playing in his D+2 season this year, and is about at a 2 P/GP in the Q. I can’t see waiting any longer, I can’t see him being worse than Rads.
Sometimes you need to delegate line pairing’s, you put what fits with what. Eriksson beings that veteran and defensive presence, somewhat like Raffl and apparently they were good together as a line, he also has been better than Kiviranta.
I understand that Dobby isn’t good, but there’s not many good and cheap goalies out there in FA. You could pay a 3rd to get rid of him, but then you just lose him for another backup that most likely won’t affect this team doing anything in the postseason. His contract is only for one more year, Stars aren’t intending to contend next year, it’s just a filler for when they’ll contend.
I see it as:
Armia with a change of scenery>Current Faksa
King Loui>Kivi
Bourque>=Rads
Holtby>Dobby
Klinger>Barrie
It’s 3-2 for the new team, that’s just how I see it.
This team isn’t supposed to contend, it’s supposed to do just enough so that in the future they can contend.
