If the first rounder for caufield would be top 10 protected, I feel as though theres a lot of teams that would give a first no protection and a 2nd in 23 for him.

If the Sabres pick is top10 protected,
then MTL is for sure getting either the VGK 1st or the FLA 1st that Buffalo has
It’s pretty much a lock at this point that the Sabres pick will be top10

I think the Sabres would trade the VGK or FLA 1st for Caufield
Not sure that MTL would wanna do that though- Caufield is still young enough to be part of a “rebuild” there

Vancouver is not interested in Gallagher and Montreal is not going to retain that much of his Salary for 5 years.

Plus, the vegas pick is in the teens now, I expect it to be closer to 30 by the time the season ends. Trading Caulfield for THAT pick would be a disaster, of course, as a Sabres fan, sign me up.

I think MTL would go for whatever team offered the highest 1st round pick….

I’d think they’d want Caufield to be part of it

Sabres probably would do this with there 23 pick, protected for the top 10 though and a second or 2.

Disagree. A 2nd and Kaut is too high for Chiarot. Downgrade one of those assets and that’s fine.

He was massively overrated before, he massively sucks now, and considering Girard is out a month that’s not happening anyway. There are very few players who I think are as bad a fit for the Avs as Chiarot.
