Hold at the TDL

Created by: BeautifulIdiot

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Ok, So, I think that Boeser would take a 6x6 deal, and yes I know his QO is 7.5. but that is only what his 1st year salary will be, so I think that 6x6 would be in the time that Jimmy R would go for, and at the pricepoint that Brock would go for.

Bye Bye Dickey

We have too many poolmans, he isnt a bad player, we just have no roster spots for him to claim.

TBL is already over the cap for next year, and joseph has been great for them, but they have become a team that has come to grips with losing their young players. Waivers, trades, if they're gone they'll still win. I think that Joseph can be a JT miller light, being more than what TBL projects him to be.

I really like game of barron, he'd be a great acquisition and he is behind a lot of really good players who are on really good contracts and he has no reason to push them out ATM. It might take a little bit more than motte and a 4th, maybe a 3rd in there/ as well.

Lockwood takes motte's spot.

This year, trade schenn, trade myers. Giraffe man will have 1m in actual salary yet 6m cap hit so he will have positive value to a team trying to reach the floor and not trying to spend money.

Allvin, please dont mess this up. Please bring us a cup.

Let me know your thoughts.

thanks,

Beautifulidiot

Avs arent trading a highly rated RHD prospect for a 4th and two months of a fourth liner, not even close.

I just can't see Detroit giving up a 4th another bottom 6 forward we already have so many.

Do you actually think Boeser will accept a 6x6? Also do you think another team would offer sheet him for more?

I like this. We do need to ship out Poolman and Dickinson to free up cap space. I would say keep Motte though, he is so good. Our RD isn't half bad with Schenn, Myers, Hamonic, and Burroughs. I say we just try and draft a RD. Maybe trade up to a higher pick for David Jiricek trading our first rounder and another player like Hoglander, something like that.

LMAO at that Colorado trade. In no way does Motte and a 4th (or a third) get you a former first round blue chip prospect RHD unless Sakic has suddenly undergone some kind of lobotomy.

I'm honestly not sure if that works for the Jackets or not. Yes, we really need RD, but Poolman's basically another puckmover and we've got a lot of those. And his contract term and age together... I really don't know. Maybe. I dunno. Maybe not.

Poolman would be a good depth add but he don’t fill that need in the top 4. I’d move a low pick for him, not a third.

he is behind a lot of really good players who are on really good contracts and he has no reason to push them out. It might be more, or it might be more of a package but I do think that the canucks are interested in him. How would motte and a 2nd sound?

Yes I do and no I don't think that he will get offersheeted. 6m is a very good contract for him, he's a bit streaky and I dont see a scenerio where the canucks win a trade with him.

Ok then how would you value him? Keep in mind that you don't have much space on your blueline, you have more and better guys coming in the pipeline, and some contracts that will keep him out of the lineup and in the A. I put that out as a feeler, how would motte and a 2nd sound?

For Motte? A pending UFA 3rd liner that doesn’t fit a need? A 3rd and a lower tier prospect.

No, Barron, and I have seen other avs AGM's trade for motte, so I think he fills some sort of need. I think a 3rd for motte would be fair, so how would a 2nd and motte for Barron feel?

Barron is only getting traded for a top 6 forward with term. He’s NHL ready now imo and the only reason he hasn’t been called up is because COL was trying to accrue cap space.

See but no GM will give the avs wha that they want this year, contenders will have to overpay, I think a good bottom 6 player and a 2nd is fair

I think you’re wrong. Few teams are distinct buyers, fewer have the cap space to do trades, there are a lot of guys out there available, right now it’s obviously a buyers market because nothing is happening. That could change, but COL isn’t going to give away any prospects especially Barron who could be with the Avs as soon as this year.

The thing is, the big buyers are clear, especially with the avs being able to utilize LTIR until landy and i think there was a defenceman aswell, they will be buyers and it will be a sellers market so they will have to overpay. besides, what is the end goal of the NHL, to win the stanley cup. you dont do that being stagnant. ask me how I know, Jim benning was my team's GM
