Description
This is a pretty unrealistic situation but is one I wouldn’t mind to see if the Wild decide to go all in. I would have liked to add another goalie with the recent struggle of the wild, but I don’t know if adding a guy like Fleury would be enough of an upgrade for what the cost would be to get him.

Trading for Giroux is not necessarily the only possible move that would work here. Several guys such as JT Miller and Tomas Hertl could be great fits as well. I don’t think Miller is traded with Vancouver finding themselves in the playoff hunt and between Hertl and Giroux I think the veteran presence of Giroux might give him an edge over Hertl, but Hertl’s goal scoring prowess would be fantastic on this line as well. I also do not know if it would require this much, but I have heard that teams are not willing to give up a 1st for giroux so it would be a good opportunity for the wild to offer one while also maneuvering around some money to allow them to add other players.

I think that trading Dumba and picks for Chychrun could be very beneficial in itself because it frees up 1.4m this year and next for the wild as well as gives us a good young player on a great deal for 2 more years following that. Along with that, we would get 2 productive forwards which would give the Wild one of the deepest forward groups in the league if not the deepest. I could see this being considered paying too much or too little by many, and there are definitely more adjustments that could be made to make this more work. Beckman is probably the part that hurts me the most.

Note 1: This was made prior to the Chychrun injury.

Note 2: I think Kessel’s cap hit is glitched, I believe it is supposed to be 4.6m

As always, feel free to tell me how horrible my trades are.

Don't think that'll be enough for Giroux

Fair. How much more do you think would be needed?

Given Tippet and Barron seem to be the two main names surrounding Giroux, probably an above average prospect

Wild aren't doing any of this, my gosh....

Guerin isn't trading for a rental, he's already told the team

We aren't trading dumba

Kessel has zero value and won't play in Minnesota

Travis boyd already resigned.

Dumba is a solid NHLer. Beckman is considered a pretty good prospect, McBain has had 2 dozen team calling asking about his rights. I get the “random” for Dewar and Sturm, but Dewar is a 22 year old NHLer and Sturm is a pretty average depth guy with decent NHL experience but nothing special. I would be willing to give up more in this trade, just hard to gauge the value of two vets on expiring deals, but I get that it is short on value but I don’t know if “random crap” is the right term for it

You do realize Guerin would never ever give up a 1st round pick right? Dude dumba Isn't available, and he will block this trade. Kessel is beyond bad . Travis boyd resigned . You are overvaluing bad players and giving up wild good players and assets

You are getting so mad over something that I literally said it was pretty unrealistic and it was only if the Wild decided to go all in on this season. It’s alright bro, take a deep breath.

Yeah, I was trying to be humorous. But for real, I feel like there is too much stuff on that trade. Rarely if ever are seven pieces moved by one side. ARI probably likes more quality than quantity.

I believe the expected ask was a young player, top prospect and 1st.
