Does Chicago consider

Team: 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 13, 2022
Published: Mar. 13, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No way would the 34 year old Kane fetch a top prospect such as cozens, or a "cozens" level prospect from another team, wondering if it's someone they look to move, due to age, and if this is something they would consider.

Both Kane and the Hawks would probably say no.

I'm pretty sure if you were to ask a Blackhawks fan, they would want someone like Krebs, Cozens, or Power in return for their best player of the last ten years.

Slow and steady Buffalo, don’t be afraid to be mediocre for another year or two and lock up your kids cheaper before you blow the budget on overpriced vets on the wrong side of 30. Future top 5 tender in the league and a couple top 6 forwards and something to go with power and dahlin would be huge for a possible future dynasty. Possibly a little early for that talk but right tender and a couple decent rhd dman could have this squad on the way.

I get the feeling that if Kane were to accept a trade, he would want the option to come back to CHI when his contract is up and the rebuild is a little further along. But no, that is not enough.

With an extension??? I understand the pure rental aspects and no one could stop him from signing an extension, but to make an extension a condition of the trade kinda seems like BUF is looking for a hometown discount today for a contract years into the future, no?

And I don't think the Hawks want to trade Kaner. He'll help develop other prospects talent turn into NHLers.

I agree that they'd want quality for quality.

Yes. I think a lot of people are underrating Peterka. He has 48P in 51GP in the AHL as a 19/20 year old, plus you get Mittelstadt + a 20 year old recent 1st round pick + late 1st. Thats a huge haul

I mean...probably 2nd best in their entire history. At least in offense which most stats are geared toward. So they should be asking for more, right? I mean original Six team trading to BUF easily their best ever player in their history.

I'm pretty sure you are laughed at by everyone in the nhl if that's asked for. You're not getting that level of a prospect for a 34 year old with a 10.5 mil cap hit who has shown he is slowing down.

He needed to be traded 3 or 4 years ago to fetch that level of a prospect.

Read the description.

Yup. That was my thought with the offer, didn't want to give up peterka, but needed to be giving up a piece you don't want to.

Lmao. Why would top tier free agents like Kadri and Klingberg wanna go to that ****hole? And why would Kane wanna go from one rebuilding team to a worse one? I know he’s from Buffalo but I would almost guarantee he wouldn’t waive to go there.
