Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

Leafs upgrade at Defence and Goaltending. Leafs downgrade at forward and give up a 1st rounder. Leafs get experience in Chara.
New York upgrades their forwards which they desperately need to do. Downgrades their Defence (Dobson, Mayfield, Holl still on the right). Downgrade their goaltending but also remove some cap from their goaltending situation. They also get a 1st round pick.

Pulock has an 8 year extension already signed for those who didn't know. He is not a UFA.

Thoughts?

Leafs do paper transaction with Lily to be cap complaint.

The Islanders aren't trading Pulock. Switch him out with Mayfield and they might do it.

I wanted to make a trade based around Pulock and Nylander.

Both teams trade from an area of strength to fill an area of weakness. Nylander becomes New Yorks best goal scorer and maybe even best forward (at least equivalent to Barzal). Leafs upgrade their dcorp substantially at the same time. The other pieces in this trade are to fill out the rosters of both teams.

I understand why New York doesnt move Pulock though. But if they move him, it would be for a guy like Willy.

This is just a bad year; I don't think they will do anything drastic, and although Nylander is a good piece, and the guy Toronto trades to help the D, losing Pulock creates a pretty big hole on the Islanders, and breaks up one of the best pairings in the league.

The offer isn't a bad proposal though.

this isn't a troll. I kept Rielly + Brodie since that pairing has been very good the past few years. No point splitting them up.
