lets be honest here who in the right mind thinks alexis laf is gonna pan out to be a franchise guy like what jt miller is right now

no deal we counteroffer with 2022 first and schneider
we will even retain 50% for that price

Not even close for Canucks. Miller is off the table rn I think and just a bust of a 1st overall isn’t going to cut it to get him

Dude you just added nearly $16,000,000 to the rangers payroll with very little going out. You're still 3 players short with 0 cap space. Good luck adding several players this summer with no cap space to work with.

The guy was #1 OA…and under the weight of that came directly to NHL under less than ideal conditions (due to pandemic). FWIW, he has not been spectacular, but he has shown he fits in top 6 in the NHL. No disrespect to Miller- but nobody in their right mind could look at him in his D+2 year- and be certain he’d develop into the player he is now…for that matter, NYR couldn’t make that assessment several more years in when they traded him to TBL! Point of it all is let LaF develop…maybe he doesn’t amount to much more than a regular NHLer…but maybe he becomes a mega star…you just don’t know….but you do not give up on a 1 OA in his 2nd year!

It took Miller 8 seasons to pan out, pump the brakes.

Missing the point. You’re judging Laf on his first 100 games that he won’t become Miller but after Miller’s first 100 games he didn’t even look as good Laf does now
