I don't think Ottawa would retain AND add a pick. One or the other, sure, but not both.

Why would the Avs give up a 5th round pick for Archibald? At least Middleton can travel across the border.

I think the Oilers should keep him and gamble that the travel restrictions will have eased by the playoffs.

Edmonton declines the Chicago trade. MAF has been inconsistent this season and overall hasn't been great. He certainly isn't worth a 1st over Koskinen (plus other moves to make the cap work).

Fleury: -0.404 GSAx/60
Koskinen: -0.142

Couple other issues with this trade: NHL insiders have said, over and over, that Fleury is not going to waive for Edmonton; and Holland has said many times that he's not trading the 1st (or a high-end prospect) for a rental.

Alternatively, there’s another easy way he could travel across the border…

I'm not sure what you're saying. You mean if he gets vaccinated?

He can travel to the United States just fine, it's getting back into Canada that's an issue.

Yeah, if he gets vaccinated he can be a contributing member of a team.

Avs shouldn’t have any interest in a player that can’t play in Canada.

Just because they are doesn't mean they will get it. Teams are looking for 2023 pick because it's stacked, exactly why it won't be traded

Obviously then why say “ They aren't waiting two years for draft pick “ in the first place? Just started a pointless conversation. Edmonton Oilers do not want to be picking any lower then 25th with McDavid, if they win a trade with a pick coming back then maybe

Because wild aren't. They are literally asking for 2022. Again nobody is waiting until 2024 to draft a player. So just accept it that wild aren't interested

Can you provide the source from within the organization that they're only looking for 2022 2nds?

It was Russo in his podcast saying wild are trying to get multiple picks in this draft to move up because players are expected to drop

Okay the reporter that reports for Minnesota wild right? He’s no different then Jason Gregor who reports for Edmonton Oilers meaning it could be true or not be true lmfao again you’re not in the same air as Bill Guerin to know what he’ll accept or anything in that matter hahahahah
