I'd actually prefer to see this team become sellers instead of buyers at the TDL. They aren't going anywhere this year.

I don't see expending more future assets now to have two playoff games of revenue as a smart move.

It doesn't really matter though. We all know what is about to happen.

Sometimes the best trades are the ones that you don't make. Recognizing that this team is just not built to win now might be their best option to win in the future.

I digress.... Its like watching a car crash in slow motion.

Probably a good take. On the other hand, Chychrun is 23 and Hill is 25, so it's not exactly selling the farm for some rentals in their mid 30s (Giroux, Fleury, etc). Chychrun and Hill both fit the timeline of Matthews and Marner's prime while making the team better now too.

Chychrun is going to cost far more then that, If anything they way he's been playing has only increased his value tremendously.

I understand it’s easy to get frustrated and lose hope but would you feel this way if they had league average goaltending the past two months? Heck even the last 3 weeks and they most likely have at least 6 more points and are right there with Florida.
I understand they have issues everywhere in just saying.

I'm not frustrated. I know exactly where this team stacks up.

The goaltending has been terrible but, there are deeper issues here.

This group, as assembled, (forget the goalies), is not a winner. The sooner they recognize that, the easier it will be to build one. They have the assets to build one properly. They just refuse to do it.

Hey I get it, I’m just saying did you have this same take in December after Jack was on fire for a month and covered up any issue the team had?

I would love to see the team with normal goaltending for a month again and try to figure out what they really are, unfortunately there isn’t that kind of time.

I think their best bet is try to convince MAF to come, hopefully get him without trading a first and pray that him or campbell can get it done in May.
Then we can go back to worrying about if the star players can score or not.

Not sure what else they got for this season man.

Reality is they are facing a cup contender in the first round, they blew their chance last year of killing the first round narrative so we wouldn’t be all here still talking about it.
If they get normal goaltending they do have a chance to beat anyone, yes probably more likely they lose again but you gotta at least give them the best chance at it. Hockey is a random game, maybe this year they get a bounce or two that make the difference.

I don’t wanna rely just on hope either but the front office didn’t change the core so here we are.

They gotta live in this narrative of no first round wins with this core and show they won’t let it happen again.

Interesting proposal but I gave to think Chych alone costs:

Robertson, two firsts, Engvall at a minimum - you're prob looking at Knies to offset the remaining value and take back Mrazek in my humble opinion.

Robertson, Knies, Engvall, Mrazek and two firsts for a top pair cost controlled 23 year old man is fair in my opinion.

Hill posts a 30-save shutout and all of a sudden everyone wants him at a discounted price lol.
